Playtime with Emma

Last night, we went over to the Lewis home tonight while dad hung out with Mr. Tim. Emma, baby and I played together for a couple hours in the basement and in Emma's room. She has lots of fun toys. We watched part of a Japanese cartoon and half of Beauty and the Beast. Before leaving, Tim and Andrew played a re-match football game (Giants vs Patriots), and Tim (Giants) won. (Hope the superbowl turns out differently...)

5 Months Old

Today, baby is 5 months old! For some reason, it seems he should be older than that. We gave him a bath in the big tub, and he had fun kicking and splashing around. Then he experienced the discomfort of splashing water up his nose. Dad kept his arm underneath baby's chest to keep him above water. By the time we took him out, dad's shirt was soaked.

Baby-Inspired Birthday Wishes

Cousin Austin sent this to great-grandma on Facebook 45 minutes ago. This made me laugh so hard! I thought I'd share it. Underneath the photo, he said, "Happy birthday! That andrew kid is too cute to compete with, but I sure tried ;)" (referring to earlier post.)

And then Allison (younger cousin) posted a birthday wish as well:

I'm thinking the rest of the grandkids need to catch up!

Happy Birthday Great-Grandma!

Today is Great-Grandma Arlie's birthday! She turned 82, but you'd never guess she was that old. She is beautiful, loving, giving, artistic, and funny. She loves to tend to her large garden and be with her family. We hope this 2012 birthday and rest of the year will bring her lots of happiness.

//We thought we'd make something creative for her this year.

Game Night

We were happy to be invited over to the Barnard home for a game night tonight. It consisted of lots of noise, warmth, and happiness due to lots of people, great food, loud laughter, and much talking. Leslie Barnard held Andrew Jr. throughout the night. He was very smiley, drooly, tired, excited, and talkative all at once. After a little while, Josiah and Hannah came over and Josiah got to meet little Andrew for the first time. Josiah wouldn't hold him, though, because he was drooling. There were lots of people of all ages in the house tonight, and most of us enjoyed playing Four on a Couch (a fun memory game) while the rest talked.

//The look he had when we saw a house filled with loud people.

//Baby meets cute Anna.

//Playing Four on a Couch (this is only about 1/5 of the amount of people who played tonight). Philip, Abby and Marc were having fun talking.

//The happy couple, Jeremiah and Marie.

//There's Katrina; she's so funny and cute. Philip is funny and cute, too, but I caught him at a serious moment.

//Peter...always on that Kindle...and his friend (forgot his name) watches.

//Daniel and Anna

//Mrs. Barnard (Leslie) enjoyed holding baby while we play Four on a Couch. He drooled on her a lot.

//Amanda Barnard; she's such a pretty girl.

//And Hannah; I caught her at a moment she wasn't talking.

Baby and I

After picking up the apartment and say good-bye to Andrew as he went to work, I felt creative and put this image together of baby and I. (click image to enlarge it.) I was trying to wear him out so I could start dinner, and it worked! But his nap only lasted long enough for me to get this post done. As you can see, his socks are pulled half-way off because he likes to suck on them.

Warm, Homemade Hat!

We received a yellow package from Aunt Priscilla in the mail yesterday that contained a cute, yellow and brown homemade hat for little Andrew. It is very thick and soft. Sad thing is...he will be sure to outgrow it by next week. He's just growing too fast!

//Baby says, "Thank you, Aunt Priscilla!"

Another Long Day

Today, we enjoyed a trip to Menards! We don't have any pictures because we had too much fun looking at everything (my favorite place is the area with the paint samples.) We noticed baby's drool had a pink tint from some blood, which may be a sign that his teeth are coming in. We still don't see them yet though.

After Menards, we went to Grandma Lisa's house to help with patching and prepping the walls for painting. Uncle Damian enjoyed seeing baby again, of course. We gave him a nice, new silver bible as a gift. He was very thankful.

Afterwards, baby and I dropped dad Andrew off at his parents' home for a haircut while we went to Great-Grandma's house for a visit. We haven't seen her and Howard since Christmas and we couldn't wait to see them again.  When grandma saw him, she was amazed at how much bigger and heavier he was! She said he was completely solid.

After a nice visit, we went back to get dad from the Perron home, where we found dad and all the brothers playing a game, Aunt Valerie on the computer, Aunt Hannah and Grandma Rose talking in the livingroom, and Grandpa snoring on the couch.

//He smiled a lot tonight for his great-grandma.

Last Week

***Due to a computer virus issue and a lot of busyness, this post will show what we did last week.***

Sunday/January 15

Today, we spent the day watching the Packers/Giants game at Grandma and Grandpa Perron's house, and then the Lewis family came over to hang out. Bobby, Grandma Rose (and the rest of her Wisconsin family) was very sad that the Packers lost! It was a good game.

//Andrew patiently waits for the game to begin.

//Happy us. (Taken by Daniel)
// Table setting. (Taken by Daniel)
//Peter with his Kindle and Mountain Dew pajamas.
//Portrait of Bobby. He's currently in Germany and is very missed.

//Silhouette of Andrew

//Sachi smells candles with little Emma.
//Emma looks at Andrew Jr.

//Andrew Jr. wants the candle.

//He intensely stares at the red candle (haha).

//And then he's taken away by Aunt Valerie.

Saturday/January 14

Grandma Lisa and Aunt Olivia came over for a visit today! They were in Kenosha shopping and wanted to stop by to see what the little bug and I were up to. They enjoyed watching him play with his musical turtle on the floor. Baby laughed for Olivia when she made faces at him.

//Aunt Olivia and baby face a beautiful pink and orange sunset. Grandma Lisa enjoys watching on the couch.

//He gets so excited when he sees his turtle.

Friday/January 13
Andrew asked me to watch baby while he took a shower. So, he left him laying on his tummy on the floor in the livingroom, facing some toys. I was on the computer with my back toward him and I hadn't turned around once while Andrew was in the shower (sounds bad, I know...) Usually baby will start fussing and want to be picked up after a few minutes, but all I heard for a while was his happy sounds while playing with his toys. As soon as Andrew came out of the bathroom, we both looked at baby, and he was fast asleep! We were absolutely amazed and we laughed while laying the rest of the blanket over him.

Then Andrew was heading out the door for work. (Yes, we still have Christmas decorations up...we love them!)

A couple hours later, I went in the bathroom to do my hair. I left baby in his bouncy seat, and he was quite fussy. I tried to get my teeth brushed real quick before he got too loud. Then I noticed he got dead silent. I turned out and...he fell asleep on his own again!!

//His little hand looked so cute holding on to the bar.

Later that evening, Kim Herrera and her baby, Lacey, came over to pick me and baby up and bring us to her house since Andrew had the car. We got Little Caesars pizza. Lacey sang all the way home, and Kim and I talked about her pregnancy symptoms (yes, she's four months pregnant!!) and how big our babies were getting. We spent the rest of the night eating pizza, talking, taking pictures, holding little Andrew, and putting Lacey to bed -- well, Kim was the one getting her ready for bed -- I sat on the couch with little Andrew and watched Lacey take off running around the house naked with a toothbrush in her hand (haha). Hang-out time with Kim is not as easy as it used to be, but it's definitely more fun!

//Meet Kim and Lacey Mae. Lacey will be 2 in May, and she's expecting a baby brother or sister in June!

//Lacey Mae is getting so big! I remember last time I took pictures of her, she was Andrew's size.

Tuesday/January 10

//All ready to leave for the Lewis', but we noticed how baby was truly captivated by his mobile. (And then dad Andrew was captivated by his cute son.)

//Playing with legos

//Sisters. Meet Hannah and her newly adopted baby sister, Emma.

//Dinner was great! Rosemary Chicken, Puerto Rican rice, corn, peas, and bread. We had vanilla ice cream afterwards. YUM!

//Sachi holds baby.

//Emma wants to be held also, and Tim enjoys watching.

//Playing for the first time.

Sunday/January 8

We enjoyed another church service this Sunday, and mom and baby matched for the day!

//Green and brown = awesomeness.

//Grandma Rose couldn't wait to see baby in the outfit she made him.

//And Uncle Daniel couldn't wait to hold him.

//Hannah wore a pretty, blue scarf.

//Valerie talks with Sarah and Geneva Capp after service.

//Now the whole group is talking as usual. There's a third sister, Ahna.
